Séance: The Entity for iPhone and iPad · Effective 23 October 2026 (draft, takes effect when version 2.0 is released)

1. A work of fiction

Séance is a horror game. The spirits are fictional characters. In live sittings they are played by an AI, which can say unexpected, inaccurate or unsettling things. Nothing in the app can contact anyone who has died, predict the future or give advice of any kind. Don't rely on anything a spirit says. If it ever stops feeling like a game, end the sitting. 2. Who may play

Live sittings are for adults (18+). Younger players may use quiet sittings. Parents and guardians are responsible for younger players' use and purchases.

3. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under these terms and the App Store's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple's standard EULA), which also applies. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, or use it to build a competing service.

4. Fair use of live sittings

Live sittings use paid AI and voice services. Don't try to extract the spirits' instructions, use the app to generate harmful, hateful, sexual or illegal content, or automate requests. We limit how often a device can start live sittings, and we may switch the app to quiet sittings when our services are busy or unavailable. If a live sitting can't begin, its ectoplasm is returned.

5. Ectoplasm and ritual items

Ectoplasm and ritual items are a limited licence to use features in the app. They have no cash value, can't be exchanged or transferred, and are not refundable except where the law or Apple's policies require. Refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing in the app is sold at random. We may change prices or items, but we won't take away items you've bought.

6. Content you send

Don't send personal information about yourself or anyone else in your questions. You keep any rights you have in what you write; you let us process it only to produce the reply, as described in the privacy policy.

7. Changes and availability

We may update or discontinue features, spirits or the service. If live sittings are discontinued, quiet sittings will keep working on your device.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming, USA, except where the consumer law of your country of residence says otherwise.
